Note: If your crank DOES NOT screw in but is am S-shaped SLOTTED crank that just pops on and off the shaft, you do NOT have a Standard B or higher; you have a Standard A machine and need my other belt. DON'T GO BY THE REPRODUCER, WHICH MAY SAY "MODEL C." Go only by the crank. If it pops on and off, rather than screwing on, you have a MODEL A MACHINE! THIS BELT WON'T WORK ON THAT MACHINE.You need to be sure you order the right belt. GO BY THE CRANK TYPE and make sure you have a STANDARD model rather than a HOME or other Edison machine
Sorry for the price raise, folks- BLAME MANAGED PAYMENTS WE'RE NOW FORCED TO BE UNDER THAT ADD AN ADDITIONAL FEE IN ADDITION TO ALL THE OTHER FEES!!!!
Here is a drive belt that is ideal for the Edison Standard Model B C or D Phonographs.
These are far better than leather belts. Leather belts may be original, but they don't run smoothly, loosen in cold, shrink in heat, crack, and slip more easily if oil gets on them. Plus, this throw-on belt saves you the hassle of measuring, gluing and/or sewing together. I've been using them for years, haven't had to replace one yet, and love their performance.
But don't just take my word for it--here's what some of my customers have said about these belts:
You would not believe what the English climate can do to machines, let alone to its own devices for a century or more. I have used your belts for 5 or 6 years now, and there has never been a better method of doing the job. The improvement and ease of operation, reliability and constancy of speed is almost unbelievable, and you can stick that on your website with my compliments.
I ordered a leather belt but the glue made a lump. My wife stitched it together but it still doesn't work smoothly.
I can't believe I've been suffering with a leather belt all these years! Whoever is considering this belt, JUST ORDER IT! ...you won't be sorry... now I have to ... (or GET to)... go through all the cylinders and finally stop worrying! THANKS SO MUCH FOR THIS PRODUCT! Phil
I suppose it is at least 3 years since I bought my first one for my Edison Standard, model D. Never a slip or misalignment. Perfect speed regulation, because the tension is just right.
Thanks guy. I am sick of mandrels wowing because I can't splice leather together to save my life...
Go with the rubber! Had me up and running in minutes. Much better than leather.
A++ Wonderful item!
I really want to try that rubber belt, I'm fed up with glueing!!
Belt works great.Sorry for the delay in feedback.Happy with purchase. THANKS
Item arrived worked well-i am happy with it.
Nice item.
Cool works great.
Arrived as described. Thanks!!
This rubber belt works perfectly with my Edison Standard Model B. Great!!!
If you have a Model D or E and are unsure how to change the belt, you simply loosen the screws to both the mandrel drive pulley, and the left side end of the mandrel shaft. This will allow you to slide the shaft over to the right and thus open a hole to remove the old belt and then position the new. Only takes about 30 seconds. Just don’t lose the screws! Then slide the mandrel back all the way to the left, tighten the mandrel screw, slide the mandrel pulley back to its original position and tighten that down. Then slip the belt onto the top pulley and you’re set.
US shipping is free in a letter envelope w/no tracking. Tracking would add to the sale. Foreign must pay due to USPS recent outrageous and obscene price raise for foreign shipping + I am charged a 10% fee for the shipping charges on top of that to boot! My apologies for that. I don't like it any more than you do! (Note: Canada buyers get a rebate on shipping because it is a bit cheaper to ship there than other places.)
