Since 1937, UJ Ramelson is the leader in American made carving tools.  Our story began in 1906 when our grandfather Donato Ramella immigrated to the United States from Costoluccia, Italy in search of the American dream.  At sixteen years of age, and with few skills, Donato landed a job in the tool and die industry.  He became a skilled craftsman making quality files and engraving tools for the jewelry industry.  In 1937, along with two partners, Donato founded the U.J. Ramelson Company.  UJ.
